Rapid Re-Housing of Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice, Inc. offers short-term help to those who are homeless and in need of permanent housing.

Who we Help
Rapid Re-Housing Is a short-term intervention designed to help individuals and families to quickly exit homelessness and return to permanent housing.

How we Help
The Rapid Re-Housing program provides assistance to help participants with move-in costs, rent deposits as well as rental and utility assistance, necessary to allow individuals and families to move immediately out of homelessness and into a stabilized household. The program offers Case management to assist households with connections to resources that might help them to improve their quality of life and achieve their long-term goals.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Individuals or families living in a public or private place not meant for human habitation.
  • Individuals or families living in a temporary shelter, which includes congregate shelters and transitional housing
  • Individuals or Families exiting an institution where the individual or family has resided for 90 or fewer days and was living in a shelter or in a place not meant for habitation before entering the institution.
  • Any individual who is fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault stalking, or other dangerous situation. Has no other residence and lacks the resources or support networks to obtain other permanent housing. (24 CFR part 576.104).

If you feel that you might qualify for assistance through the Rapid Re-Housing Program please Call 239-533-7996 (Lee County Department of Human and Veteran Services). Screening starts at the DHVS office and clients are referred to the Catholic Charities Rapid Re-Housing program directly from the DHVS office.
