Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice. Inc. collaborates with Catholic Charities Adoption Services to provide adoption services.

Catholic Charities Adoption Services is a state-wide agency that provides counseling of birth parents, provisions or resources to meet physical needs of birth parents considering adoption planning; facilitates the legal transfer of parental rights for those parents who voluntarily select adoption as their option of pregnancy and/or parental resolution; conducts adoption home studies and preparation for prospective adoptive parents who wish to adopt through the agency, as well as for prospective adoptive parents working with an independent/intermediary/and/or agency outside of the State of Florida for domestic and/or international placement; provides post-placement counseling, support, and follow-up services, provides consultations with individuals and organizations to provide specific information on adoption; and search services for Catholic adoptees and birth families interested in reunification. Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc. provides non-identifying family background information to former clients of past adoption services. Florida adoption records are sealed. Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc. will disclose reasonably available non-identifying information to an adoptive parent, adoptee, or birth parents. Disclosures will only be made upon payment of a $100 non-refundable service fee and receipt of a notarized Non-Identifying Information Request Form. Following an administrative review of a request by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc. a request will be approved and processed, or denied. Not all adoption files contain the information designated on the Non-Identifying Information Request Form. Notification will be provided if no record is found or a request has been denied. Under no circumstance will non-identifying information be provided over the telephone or by email. Click HERE for the Non-Identifying Information Request Form.
