Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc. is looking for two part-time overnight Shelter Assistants for the Family Haven in North Port. The job duties include 12-hour shifts, two nights a week, from 8 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.  The shifts available are Tuesday and Wednesday, or Sunday and Monday. The overnight shelter assistant is responsible for overseeing the operation of the homeless shelter, ensuring clients safety. The overnight assistant will enforce policy and procedure, notifying supervisor and/or 911 of urgent problems, if any; assisting with admission and discharge of residents, simple meal preparation for residents, and other housekeeping duties as assigned.  The job requirements include a High School Diploma/GED. Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc. is looking for a full-time Caseworker for the Human Trafficking Victim Assistance Program in Fot Myers. The job duties include providing comprehensive case management and direct assistance to all victims of severe human trafficking which includes minors, adults and both domestic and foreign born individuals; creating and maintaining case files in an automated case management system, traveling as necessary to meetings and other activities, attending training as necessary, and advising the program director and updatimg the supervisor as required. The position is based out of the Fort Myers office but the service area encompasses the entire ten county region Catholic Charities serves with a focus on Hendry and Glades County. The job requirements include a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human service field and a working knowledge of community social services resources is required.  A master's degree in social work or a related human service field is preferred. Prior experience in human trafficking is highly desirable. The successful candidate must also have some basic knowledge of human trafficking and the laws and statutes that to relate to this issue. This position requires the ability to be able to interact effectively with law enforcement and prosecutors. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and be willing to work varying hours which may extend past 6 p.m. Bilingual English/Spanish language skills are required. The job requirements include a bachelor's degree in social work or human services field and three to five years experience and demonstrated ability in intensive case management in a social service setting. Job duties include working with single mothers and their preschool children who, were they not at the program, would be homeless; completing required needs assessment and service planning with residents at Our Mother’s House to define their individual goals, and coordinating services to assist in achieving these goals; and monitoring each client’s progress during their stay at the program.
